More about Elaine
Elaine’s upbringing and life experiences has motivated her to be the best she can be and to use her God given talent in as many areas of life as is possible. Elaine was born in Kingston, Jamaica. Her parents were like so many immigrant families who made enormous sacrifices to migrate to the U.S. to live the American dream, and to provide untold opportunities for their children.
Leaving her in Jamaica with relatives so she could finish high school, Elaine’s parents and siblings migrated to the US when she was fifteen years old. During the year she spent away from her parents and siblings she was forced to face continuous feelings of fear, insecurity and loneliness. Through God’s grace she learn the lessons of faith, perseverance and resilience while working towards the family’s goal that she complete high school and fulfill her lifelong dream of ultimately becoming an attorney.
Her long-held goals and dreams began to be realized when, at the age of sixteen, she was accepted at Fordham University in New York where she obtained her B.A. in Political Science.
She then persevered against insurmountable odds and fulfilled that childhood dream by going on to earn an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Canada and an LL.M. from New York University School of Law.
As an attorney for several decades she has been a tireless advocate for and has given counsel to thousands of clients navigating the legal system. Through the experiences of seeing people at their lowest and at their most vulnerable, she has learned an enormous amount about the human condition, the things people do to destroy their lives and the steps they can take to begin again.
Elaine says “today is the day that you accept your past for what it was. Put your life in perspective, begin to take stock and embrace the pathway that leads to you taking control of your life.”
Let Elaine help show you the steps you can take to set goals, ways to put your life on track so you can be the person God intended you to be.
